A security delegation headed by the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Yarallah, arrived in Karbala Governorate today, Saturday, to review the security measures for the Ashura visit.
The media office of the governor of Karbala stated in a statement received by “Al-Rasheed” that “the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Yarallah, and the military leaders in the Chief of Staff of the Army, arrived in the holy Karbala Governorate,” noting that “the Governor of the holy Karbala, Naseef Jassim Al-Khattabi, received Yarallah and the accompanying delegation.”
He added, “Yarallah met with the governor and head of the security committee in the provincial council, Thaer Al-Taie, the commander of the Karbala operations, the commander of the Karbala police, and the general supervisor of the Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) combat division.”
The statement indicated that “during the meeting, the security measures and preparations taken by the governorate to receive the visit of the tenth of Muharram were discussed.”
