The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security announced today, Tuesday, the arrest of a company trading in expired and counterfeit medicines in Baghdad.

The directorate said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “With a precise intelligence effort and careful field follow-up, the detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated with the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security of the Ministry of Defense, and in coordination with the National Security Service and a detachment from the Organized Crime Directorate, were able to seize a pharmaceutical company.” It trades expired medicines and an accused was arrested within the company in one of the capital’s areas.”
She added, “The force also seized a fake drug store and factory containing counterfeit medications, printed boxes prepared for packaging, unofficial forged labels and labels, and a machine for filling and wrapping medications.”
She confirmed, “The accused was handed over with the seized items to the competent authorities.”
