Ministry spokesman Brigadier General Miqdad Miri said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “during a distinguished operation, a joint force from the Directorate of Narcotics Affairs and the Tactical Regiment in Diwaniyah Governorate carried out a qualitative operation that was based on intelligence efforts and collecting accurate information, as well as setting up ambushes.” After the shooting, it resulted in the arrest of 6 people wanted for drug trafficking and drug use, who were in possession of a quantity of crystal narcotic drugs, as well as firearms.
