Today, Friday, the National Security Service and the supporting team of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Commission revealed the details of the file of fraud in pension transactions for victims of terrorism, while indicating that the waste of money in the case amounted to more than one trillion dinars, while 34 defendants were arrested.
The agency’s spokesman, Arshad Al-Hakim, explained in a statement received by Al-Rasheed that “the file concerns a large fraud network of employees, officers, trackers, and activators of MasterCard cards, working to promote pension transactions under fictitious names and steal salaries through it.”
He added, “The amount of wastage of public money in this case amounted to more than one trillion Iraqi dinars,” pointing out that “the operation was carried out according to judicial arrest orders issued by the judge of the competent Anbar Investigation Court and in coordination with the General Retirement Authority.”
The governor stated, “The operation resulted in the arrest of 34 defendants, including senior employees who worked in the General Retirement Directorate, the Anbar and Salah al-Din Retirement Directorates, the Ministry of Education, and the Martyrs Foundation, as well as employees of the international smart card company Qi Card, officers, affiliates, and inspectors.”
