The agency stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “in light of the continuous follow-up and monitoring of the movements of ISIS terrorist remnants, the National Security Service detachments in Kirkuk Governorate were able to arrest two terrorists who published inflammatory videos aimed at trying to influence security stability.” Immediately, a specialized work team was formed, the intelligence effort was intensified, and judicial approvals were obtained, which led to their ouster 24 hours after they published the videos.
He added, “They admitted their affiliation with the terrorist organization, and their goal in publishing these videos was to promote the organization, destabilize security, spread fear in the hearts of the people, and confuse the work of the security services.”
He continued, “Our detachments in the governorates of (Baghdad, Salah al-Din, Nineveh, Anbar, Basra, and Diyala) were able to arrest (30) terrorists wanted in accordance with Article (4/1 Terrorism) during the past two months, after they carried out terrorist operations during the control of some areas by ISIS terrorist gangs.” “The accused have been referred to the competent judicial authorities to take the necessary measures against them in accordance with the law.”
