Barcelona lost its chances of signing one of its targets during the current summer transfer window.
According to the newspaper “Sport”, Barcelona planned to bring back Xavi Simons, the Paris Saint-Germain player, but the strong competition for the deal turned Barcelona into a mere spectator.
The player is facing strong competition between Bayern Munich and Manchester United, especially since he confirmed his refusal to stay with Saint-Germain next season.
She pointed out that Paris was heading to renew Simons’ loan with Leipzig, before Bayern Munich stormed the deal, offering 70 million euros.
She explained that Paris is waiting for the arrival of the first official offer from Manchester United to sign Simons, which will amount to 100 million euros.
She stated that United seeks to return strongly during the next season, so it paid 62 million euros to beat Real Madrid in the deal for Lenny Euros, and now it is repeating the scenario with Barcelona and Bayern Munich to sign Simons.
